"Cardiff based Clwb Ifor Bach resident DJ Moneyshot follows up his previous mix CD 'Don't Panda' with 'Roboplegic' an eclectic mix of feel good tunes, with some cheeky comedy excerpts thrown in for good measure along the way.
The mix features classic headnodders such as A Tribe Called Quest's 'We can get down' and the Whooliganz 'Hit the Deck' before venturing into Portisheads 'Sour times' and this is where the fun starts. As the vocals on the Portishead track fade out, Eminen's 'my name is vocals' appear and then the instrumental changes to Braintax's 'Rivera Hustle', basically this is the sign of the fun and creativity of the mix CD.
The majority of the CD follows in a similar vein with instrumentals and accapellas of different tracks being matched together to form impressive and enjoyable results. We get the ragga vocals of P.R.T. match with the quirkiness of Mr.Scruff's 'brighton rock' instrumental. Mobb Deep are given a vocal exercise over a drum n'bass DJ Krust mix, the Beastie Boys 'intergalatic' are heard over a Booker T instrumental. Then later we see the genius match up of Stetsasonic's 'Sally' over Cypress Hill's 'real estate', we also hear the superb choice of The Rolling Stones disco-funk 'miss you' thrown in the mix as well.
This is a hugely entertaining and well put together mix CD, definitely one to throw on at any party to get the crowd jumping. DJ Moneyshot shows his creativity by his track selections and match up's here, I'd say this is the best mix CD I've heard in a good while and everyone needs to check it out!"
